BACKED UP SAFARI
We start the day with tea/coffee and an early breakfast. The morning walk
is about 10-15 km returning to camp late morning. We have lunch and if you
wish a sleep in the heat of the day. At approximately 3pm we have tea, with
cake and biscuits and then set off for the afternoon walk of approximately
20km. Distances covered depend entirely on the capacity of the group and the
movements of the game. On return to the camp there is time for a shower and
few drinks around the camp fire before dinner is served.
The ablution facilities are in the form of a long drop which is erected at
every campsite. There is a bush bucket shower with hot water for bathing. On
longer durations safaris all tents have bathroom en suite.
BACKPACKING SAFARI
The routine will vary in that you will have a very early morning start.
Depending on the distances you will backpack to the next camp, have lunch
and free walk in the afternoon. If the proposed destination is too far to walk
before the heat of the day sets in, you will stop off for lunch and a siesta
and walk to the next camp later in the afternoon.
The ablutions are in the form of a bush toilet whilst in camp. As you will
always be walking near water bathing will be done in springs or a solar shower
will be provided.
